The Trial of Robert Kocharyan and Others Continues
The trial of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan and others continues at the Yerevan Shengavit district court.
It should be noted that during this phase, the lawyers of the former president are discussing the motion to suspend criminal prosecution. Specifically, the lawyers argue that Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code is unacceptable, as it was established a year after the alleged offense and lacks retroactive force. The precedent of the 'seven's case' is particularly taken into account.
Earlier, similar motions had been submitted by the lawyers of other defendants.
