2 kg 800 grams of Opium Discovered in Meghri Customs Point from Iranian Citizen: RA SRC
The fight against smuggling by the State Revenue Committee's Department and the South Customs Office at the Meghri customs point has recently uncovered another case of drug smuggling.
Specifically, during the inspection of the luggage of an Iranian citizen at the Meghri crossing point, approximately 2 kg 800 grams of a brown substance resembling opium was discovered in a specially prepared hiding place in the side compartments of a suitcase. This was reported by the SRC.
The materials prepared for this case by the SRC's Anti-Smuggling Department have been forwarded to the SRC Investigative Department, and a criminal case has been initiated. The Iranian citizen has been arrested.
