Vehicles Continue to Remain Blocked in Syunik
According to information registered at the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, due to weather conditions, as of 11:30 AM on February 13, the Sisian-Goris highway, the Vardenyats and Champart mountain passes in Syunik Province are closed, while the Sotk-K Charmavch and Amasia-Ashotsk roadways are difficult to pass.
Traffic congestion is reported from the Goris side with 8 passenger vehicles and 50 freight transport units. From the Sisian side, there are 84 freight trucks, 35 passenger vehicles, and 6 buses carrying 64 passengers, including 2 children. Approximately 30 transport vehicles are blocked in the Champart mountain pass area.
Assistance is being provided to citizens, and measures are being implemented to clear the roads and prevent further snow accumulation. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges citizens to refrain from traveling on the aforementioned routes and advises all drivers blocked on the road to return and set off only when weather conditions slightly improve.
