«Zhoghovurd». How the Briber of Vahagn Vermishyan Was Discovered
«Zhoghovurd» newspaper reports: «As is known, Vahagn Vermishyan, the head of the Armenian Urban Development Committee, has been arrested. According to the National Security Service (NSS), he made agreements with individuals involved in construction work or representatives of construction companies and received large and particularly large bribes of 1-2.5 million AMD in five incidents, both personally and through an associate.
Moreover, the former head of the investigative department of the Yerevan Investigative Committee, Jon Farhoyan, is involved in Vermishyan's case, and he has been released on bail. According to reports, he has been engaged in quite significant construction projects and was one of those who bribed Vermishyan. Furthermore, according to information from «Zhoghovurd», law enforcement agencies conducted the discovery regarding Farhoyan by wiretapping him. It is noteworthy that Farhoyan worked in the prosecution for many years, was considered a cadre of Agvan Hovsepyan, and when Hovsepyan established the Investigative Committee of Armenia, he took Farhoyan with him. However, when Hayk Grigoryan became the head of the Investigative Committee, Farhoyan left the committee.
