Draft Law on Foster Care Benefits Approved in First Reading
The draft law on amendments to the social assistance legislation was approved in the National Assembly today in the first reading with 103 votes in favor, 1 abstention, and no votes against.
The proposal suggests adding the concept of "foster care benefit" to the law. This applies to individuals who are responsible for those in need of round-the-clock care.
The draft stipulates that those recognized as guardians of minors under the age of fourteen, who are registered in the foster care benefits system, will be entitled to receive these benefits. This concerns 433 children who lack parental care and face mental health issues.
