Date of Referendum on Constitutional Amendments Announced

The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has signed a decree to schedule a referendum on constitutional amendments.

"Guided by Article 206 of the Constitution and based on the first part of Article 12 of the constitutional law 'On Referendum', and taking into account the National Assembly's decision AO-001-N on February 6, 2020, regarding the draft amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, I hereby declare:

1. The referendum on the constitutional amendments of the Republic of Armenia is set for April 5, 2020.
2. This decree shall enter into force on the day following its official publication," states the decree.
