The Number of Coronavirus Victims in China Reaches 636

The number of coronavirus victims in China has reached 636, with more than 31,000 people infected. This was announced on February 7 by the State Committee on Hygiene and Health of the People’s Republic of China.

"As of midnight on February 6, the State Committee on Health has received reports of 31,311 confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the new type of coronavirus from 31 provinces (districts, municipalities)," the statement said. "Of these, 4,821 are in serious condition, 636 have died, and 1,540 have been discharged from hospitals."

In the past 24 hours, 73 people have died in China, and 3,100 new cases of the disease have been identified. In Hong Kong, 24 confirmed cases have been reported (including one death), in Macau there are 10 cases, and in Taiwan, there have been 16 cases of coronavirus infection.
