Group of Soldiers Detained Following Unannounced Inspections in Several Military Units
On February 7, the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia conducted unannounced inspections in numerous military units under the order of Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan. The inspections aimed to assess the state of military discipline, particularly regarding the attendance of soldiers in combat readiness training courses.
Several violations were uncovered during these inspections. A group of soldiers who were absent from the courses were detained by the Police Department, and reports were compiled concerning commanders who failed to uphold military discipline. Based on these reports, internal investigations will be conducted.
The inspections are set to continue periodically, and any identified violations will be met with strict penalties.
