Blizzard, Fog, Black Ice: Road Conditions in Armenia as of 23:30
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 5 at 23:30, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads within the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to all types of vehicles. The Sotk-Karvachar highway is impassable due to a blizzard. In the Kotayk and Aragatsotn regions, there is black ice on the roads in the Tsaghkadzor area, on the Kuchak-Aparan and Yerevan-Sevan highways, as well as on the Saravan-Zanger section.
In the Vayots Dzor region, snow is falling in the town of Jermuk, while in the Shirak region, blizzard conditions are reported in the Ashotsk area. Fog has settled in the Chai's bends.
According to information received from the Georgian National Police Emergency Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Crisis Management Center for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for passenger vehicles but closed for trucks. Additionally, there are currently 863 trucks backed up on the Russian side.
