Latest Updates on Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 4 at 21:30, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed due to heavy snowfall, as well as the roads leading to the villages of Verin and Nerin Shorzha, Airq, and Akhpradzor in Gegharkunik Province, and the roads to Amberd Fortress and Kari Lake in Aragatsotn Province, which are closed for all types of vehicles.
The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult to navigate due to heavy snowfall, alongside the Kuchak-Yeghepatrush and Kuchak-Jrambar roads, which are also challenging for all vehicles.
In Aragatsotn Province, roads in the Aparan region and along the Sevan-Yerevan route are reported to have black ice in places. Snow is currently falling in Yerevan, particularly in the Tigranashen bends, and in the provinces of Aragatsotn, Vayots Dzor, and Kotayk, including cities like Hrazdan, Charentsavan, Sisian, and Kajaran, as well as areas known as 'Meghru Sar'. Snowfall is also occurring in the regions of Ashotsk and Maralik in Shirak Province and along the Saravan-'Zanger' route.
In Gegharkunik Province, there is snowfall and blizzard conditions in the region of Tsaghkadzor in Aragatsotn Province and along the Aparan-Kuchak road. There is blizzard and low visibility on the 57th km of the Yerevan-Sevan road and on the road leading to Tsovagyugh.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Reports indicate that there are 550 trucks accumulated on the Russian side.
