COVID-19 Outbreak Has Not Yet Escalated to Pandemic, WHO Says
The spread of the new type of coronavirus has not yet escalated to a pandemic, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) on February 4.
“We have an outbreak with multiple transmission hotspots,” said Sylvie Briand, director of WHO's Health Emergencies and Endemic Diseases Department, during a press conference. She added that there have been cases of the virus reported in 23 countries outside of China.
