62-Year-Old Man Dies During Protest While Transferring Body of 19-Year-Old Soldier to Yerevan
On February 2, a tragic incident occurred in the Armavir region, as reported by Shamshyan.com. During a protest to transfer the body of 19-year-old soldier Vahram Avagyan, who died under suspicious circumstances while serving in the Artsakh Defense Army, his relatives were marching on foot to Yerevan when one of the participants suddenly fell ill.
According to the source, around 09:50, the Vagharshapat police received a call from the Ejmiatsin medical center informing them that a 62-year-old man, M. Abelian, from the village of Haytagh, had lost consciousness during the protest. By the time assistance could arrive, he had already passed away.
Aurora News has confirmed that the deceased was one of the men carrying the soldier's coffin. His health deteriorated suddenly on the way; he collapsed to his knees and died from a heart attack. M. Abelian was a fellow villager of the fallen soldier.
