Extension of Armen Ashotyan's House Arrest

The Prosecutor Mane Safaryan has requested to extend the house arrest of Armen Ashotyan for another three months. According to her, the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, who is currently under house arrest and a prohibition of leaving the country, could obstruct the evidence collection process if alternate measures are applied.

“When resolving the issue of the defendant's freedom limitation, the role he has in society and the positions he has held are of significant importance. Therefore, he could influence the witnesses involved in the case,” Safaryan stated.

Additionally, it should be noted that the judge approved the prosecutor's request, extending Armen Ashotyan's house arrest for three more months.
