Bodies of Victims of Plane Crash in Iran Transferred to Ukraine
The bodies of Ukrainian victims of the plane crash in Iran have, as stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, returned to their homeland. It has been reported that the plane landed at Kyiv's Boryspil Airport. President Zelensky himself arrived at the runway.
A memorial ceremony for the victims is also expected to take place today.
Recall that on the morning of January 8, a Boeing 737 passenger plane, belonging to Ukraine International Airlines, crashed in Tehran. There were 167 passengers and 9 crew members on board. All aboard perished, including 30 foreign nationals and 11 Ukrainian citizens.
Iran has fully acknowledged its fault in shooting down the plane, labeling the incident a result of human error.
