Major Car Accident in Hrazdan: 24-Year-Old Driver Crashes BMW X6 into Basalt Wall, Injuring 5
Today, January 17, a major car accident occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 21:20, Garnik Mkrtchyan, a 24-year-old resident of the Nor Arist neighborhood of Yerevan, lost control of his BMW X6, license plate 66 XX 006, at the intersection of Shahumyan and Spandaryan streets in Hrazdan, known locally as "Little Calzivoy." Under still unknown circumstances, the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a basalt wall.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver and four passengers sustained bodily injuries and were transported to Hrazdan Medical Center.
Citizens, along with the rapidly arriving Emergency Situations Ministry Rescue Service, were the first to respond to the injured. Following an investigation directive, the vehicle, which was reduced to scrap metal, was towed to the secured area of the Hrazdan Police Department.
From the Hrazdan Medical Center, it was reported that after receiving necessary medical assistance, all injured individuals were transported by several ambulances to Yerevan’s Erebuni Medical Center.
