Rescuers Prevent Citizen's Attempt of Self-Immolation

On January 15, at 19:23, the '911' service received information that a citizen was attempting to self-immolate on the roof of a sewage treatment plant in the town of Metsamor, Armavir Province.

A firefighting unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and an operational group from the regional rescue administration were dispatched to the scene.

The rescuers, along with employees from the Metsamor police department, successfully prevented Ara S. (born in 1976) from self-immolating and brought him down from the roof.
