Car Crashes into Iron Barriers and Rolls 150 Meters into a Gorge
On January 15, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Ararat region. Around 22:30, 37-year-old Naghash E. from Vayots Dzor was driving a BMW 520 with license plate 35 FN 314 along the 79th km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway. In the Tigranashen hairpin bend, known to the public as the Kyarki curve, he veered into the opposite lane, crashed into iron barriers, broke them, and rolled about 150 meters into a gorge. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
The driver, Naghash E., and his passenger, 28-year-old Nikolay S. from Yeghegnadzor, were rescued from the gorge by the rapid response team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Ararat fire and rescue squad, along with medical personnel from the 'Ararat' medical center who arrived promptly.
