At Least 40 People Dead During Soleimani's Funeral Ceremony
In Kerman, Iran, a stampede during the funeral ceremony of Qasem Soleimani has resulted in numerous fatalities. According to CNN, citing Iranian state media, the funeral has been postponed. At least 40 people have died as a result of the crush.
It is noteworthy that on the night of January 3, Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and one of the key military leaders in Iran, was killed in a targeted operation ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport. Alongside him, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of the Iraqi Shia Popular Mobilization Forces, and several other senior military officials also lost their lives.
