Charges Filed Against 35-Year-Old Man for Illegal Drug Trafficking

The investigation into the case of illegal drug trafficking involving significant amounts, initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, has concluded. Charges have been filed against a 35-year-old man born in 1984.

According to information from the Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee, the investigation revealed that the man illegally acquired and kept a total of 10.63 grams of marijuana and 0.049 grams of methadone in June 2018. These drugs were discovered during an inspection of his vehicle by Armenian police on June 15, 2019.

Based on sufficient evidence gathered during the investigation, the man has been charged under Part 1 of Article 268 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. A preventative measure has been chosen in the form of a signature not to leave.

The completion of the preliminary investigation has been announced, and the criminal case has been sent to the relevant prosecutor for the approval of the indictment and referral to the court.
