Russia Comments on Spy Scandal in Serbia

A spy scandal has erupted between Russia and Serbia. According to Serbian sources, a Russian military attaché attempted to recruit a Serbian army officer. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has begun to seek information on the matter. Vučić has ordered the Military Security Agency to initiate a special investigation to verify the authenticity of the information.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also commented on this information and a video showing the Russian military attaché handing over money to the Serbian army officer. “We are already used to such interesting scenarios emerging before high-level meetings between states, with various sensations being publicized. However, time shows that this is either misinformation or a hasty provocation. It seems to me that all issues concerning the country and the state are resolved through appropriate channels,” said Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova, according to ria.ru.
