Avinyan on Reasons for Suspension of ‘Taron-Avia’ Aircraft Operator Certificate
The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, presented the reasons for the suspension of the aircraft operator certificate of the local company 'Taron-Avia' during a conversation with journalists on November 20.
Avinyan mentioned that the company had faced issues with one of the European aviation organizations. “Armenia cannot be conducive to companies that do not want to adhere to certain international standards and regulations. ‘Taron-Avia’ encountered problems with one of the European aviation entities. Our European partners have informed us that the company does not meet certain standards, and the flights are problematic. We are tightening our requirements qualitatively in all directions. Of course, it is unfortunate that an Armenian company has to exit the market, but if we are talking about flight safety, that should be our priority, and there is no room for compromise here,” said Avinyan.
On November 6, the Civil Aviation Committee issued a statement announcing that the suspension of the aircraft operator certificate of 'Taron-Avia' was due to inspections conducted and recorded deficiencies. The company was given a six-month period to rectify the issues. However, the company decided to cease operations. Considering this, the operation of certificate number 049 of Taron-Avia LLC has been halted.
