Baku Outraged by Moscow Visit of Masis Mayilyan

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Bacharnikov, has been summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was received by Deputy Minister Khalaf Khalafov.

This has been reported by Azerbaijani media, citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the information, a note of protest was handed to the Russian ambassador regarding the visit of the delegation headed by Masis Mayilyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Ambassador Bacharnikov stated that Russia's position on the conflict is well known and unchanged, and that visits by “representatives” of any unrecognized entities to Russian territory do not reflect the official position of the country. He also mentioned that he would report the Azerbaijani side’s protest to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
