Defense Measures Request for Angela Tumasyan Denied
The Investigative Committee has rejected the request for protective measures concerning Angela Tumasyan, the head of the 'Hayeli' Club, as stated by her lawyer Zaruhy Postanjian to 'Factinfo'.
'Of course, we will appeal, but this speaks to the fact that the state does not want to fulfill its responsibilities,' Postanjian noted. According to her, the request was denied on the grounds of being unfounded.
It should be noted that the decision can be appealed within 5 days. Earlier, it was reported that the lawyer of Angela Tumasyan had submitted a written request to implement protective measures in order to ensure her safety. The request cited the threats from misinformation and slander propagated by David Hovhannisyan, Sargis Manukyan, Artak Margaryan, Hayk Stepanyan, and Artak Galstyan acting on their behalf, which included calls for violence and statements indicating intent to obstruct the journalist's professional activities through hooligan actions.
