Iravats. Former Deputy Minister Expects Appointment
«Iravats» newspaper writes: In previous issues of «Iravats», we reported that certain departments and divisions within the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport might be merged into the newly created Committee for the Protection of Monuments. The idea of having such a structure, by the way, was also proposed by previous administrations, but each time it was postponed for various reasons. For a considerable time now, there have been discussions within the ministry about who could be the director of the committee.
Among these expectations is Armen Abroyan, the head of the agency for the protection of historical and cultural monuments of the ministry. He is the one who was previously seen dancing flamenco with former Deputy Minister Nazeni Garibyan,” noted our source. Although now with a lower “status,” former Deputy Minister of Culture Tigran Galstyan will not give up on occupying the director's chair of the committee. “He has high hopes and is almost convinced that he will be appointed. However, another person's name is circulating in the ministry: that of Arthur Hovsepyan, advisor to Minister Arayik Harutyunyan.”
