Evacuation Planned for 16 Armenian Families in Bombed Tel Abyad
Armenian MP Mkhitar Hayrapetyan posted on his Facebook account: “I had a phone conversation with the Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo, Armen Sargsyan. As you know, Turkish forces have launched military operations in northern Syria. Considering that Armenian-populated areas of Syria are also under fire, I reached out to Consul Sargsyan to obtain information about the situation.
Currently, the Turkish forces are shelling the city of Tel Abyad, where there are 16 Armenian families. Evacuation plans are being prepared for them. Additionally, Qamishli, which also has a significant Armenian population, is under fire as well. I asked our consul to convey my support to the Armenian community, and in general, I am praying for our compatriots living in Syria and our friendly Syrian people.”
