Car Rolls 10 Meters Down the Gorge on Yerevan-Dilijan Highway; Injuries Reported
On October 4, at 07:49, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call to the "911" service reporting that a vehicle had rolled down the gorge in the twists of Dilijan, Tavush region. Emergency services were requested.
A firefighting rescue team from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that a "Ford Transit" vehicle, driven by Hayk M., had veered off the roadway on the 86th kilometer of the Yerevan-Dilijan section of the M-4 highway (6th turn) and rolled approximately 10 meters down the gorge.
Before rescuers arrived at the scene, both the driver and the passenger (Vardges M.) managed to exit the vehicle on their own. They refused medical assistance. Rescuers disconnected the power supply to the vehicle. Special equipment will be needed to retrieve the vehicle.
