Opposition MPs from the National Assembly Will Not Cut Short Strasbourg Mission
According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, the MPs from the Prosperous Armenia faction, Naira Zohrabyan, Mikael Melkumyan, and the leader of the Enlightened Armenia faction, Edmon Marukyan, will not cut short their mission to Strasbourg. They will remain in the capital of the Council of Europe until the end of the session and will return to Yerevan on October 5.
In contrast, representatives from the ruling party within the Armenian delegation will return earlier to participate in the vote regarding the termination of the powers of Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan.
According to our sources, the head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE, Ruben Rubinyan, along with all other MPs from the ruling faction, including Tatev Hayrapetyan, Sos Avetisyan, Vladimir Vardanyan, and Hovhannes Igityan, will return to Armenia in the coming days, even before the PACE session is concluded, specifically for the vote. Thus, the ruling party is 'bringing' its five votes from the Strasbourg parliament to the Armenian National Assembly.
