Incidents of Looting and Free Sale of Artifacts from Archaeological Sites and Cemeteries Registered in Vernissage
To address the incidents of looting, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports is working with the police.
Minister Arayik Harutyunyan responded today to a question from a member of the National Assembly, stating that they have also recorded cases of looting from archaeological sites and cemeteries as well as free sales in Vernissage.
“The police are working actively with us in this direction. There may even be an agreement to establish a separate small unit that will deal exclusively with looting issues,” said the minister.
