Illegally Working Azerbaijanis Being Deported from Turkey
Illegally working thousands of Azerbaijanis are set to be deported to Azerbaijan, reports the Azerbaijani website gununsesi.org. In an interview with the website's journalist, previously deported Azerbaijanis voiced their complaints, stating that there is high unemployment in Azerbaijan, especially in Nakhchivan, and tens of thousands of Azerbaijanis are illegally working in Turkey from Nakhchivan.
According to the website, there are plans to deport at least 2-3 thousand Azerbaijanis from the country. The Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkey, commenting on the information, has noted that only one Azerbaijani has been deported at this time. However, he also mentioned that agreements had been reached days ago between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey, without providing further details.
It is worth recalling that previously Azerbaijanis working illegally in Turkey have also been deported, including those involved in prostitution.
