Baku's Proposal is Absurd and Cynical: David Babayan

The Azerbaijani side's proposal is not only absurd but also a direct violation of morality and international humanitarian law. This was stated by David Babayan, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Artsakh, in a comment to NEWS.am regarding the statement from the Azerbaijani State Commission.

“It is noteworthy that the application to international organizations, as can be seen from the statement, was sent on September 11. Thus, the Azerbaijani side subconsciously exposes its terrorist intentions; it is cynical to demand the return of terrorists on a day when the whole world commemorates the anniversary of a horrific terrorist act,” emphasized David Babayan.

Commenting on the issue of returning Askaryan and Guliyev to Azerbaijan, Babayan noted: “As for Askaryan and Guliyev, these individuals have committed serious crimes, including the murder of a minor. They have been sentenced through an open trial with the participation of international observers, human rights defenders, and media.”

At the same time, Babayan pointed out the complete inaction of international competent bodies in response to Azerbaijan's cynical statements. “No one has even expressed any objections,” Babayan summarized.
