1 Million Euros Allocated for Official Trips of the Ruling Party from the Budget, Ashotyan
While the controversy surrounding the government’s decision to allocate an additional 300 million drams for the National Assembly’s official trips in May still simmers, another ‘joyful’ news has surfaced. This was announced in a Facebook post by ARF deputy chairman Armen Ashotyan.
He wrote: “It turns out that at the next government meeting, those who are fond of ineffective yet lavish expenditures will allocate an additional 250 million drams for their own official trips from the state budget. The justification states that the funds allocated under the 2019 state budget for 1185 programs under ‘11002. Foreign Official Missions’ are insufficient, considering the obligations from decisions and projects of the Prime Minister of Armenia.”
In other words, since the beginning of the year, approximately 550 million drams, or 1 million euros, are being allocated from the state budget for the trips of the ruling elite. This is not power; rather, it looks like a traveling circus that flaunts its extravagance at the expense of us all. Apparently, taking the globe from Nikol’s hands was not enough; disconnect their cable from Discovery Channel and Кухня ТВ as well.”
