Mayor to Be Summoned to Parliament, Naira Zohrabyan

The Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, is set to be summoned to the National Assembly in the coming days. This was announced today by Naira Zohrabyan, the chair of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs, during a parliamentary session.

The invitation to the mayor is prompted by concerns over the rising number of stray dogs, which have become a danger to citizens. Zohrabyan stated, “I have received numerous complaints from residents in different communities of Yerevan about groups of dogs gathering in various places, making it unsafe even near schools. This issue is on my agenda, and in the upcoming days we plan to invite the mayor to the committee and seek solutions for this problem currently faced by Yerevan.”
