Global Review of Teachers' Salaries to Take Place: Tigran Avinyan
In some schools, a teacher's full salary amounts to about 100,000 drams, but when it is divided into four parts, each teacher receives just 25,000 drams. A member of the National Assembly asked the government whether these salaries would increase by only 2,500 drams.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan clarified that the 10 percent salary increase for teachers starting from September is an average figure, and raises will vary in different locations and for different levels. According to Avinyan, these increases are also included in next year's budget.
Moreover, Avinyan stated that a comprehensive review of teachers' salaries will take place in the context of a reassessment of public servants and the entire public service system.
