The Government Strives to Remain Without the Supreme Court: Arpine Hovhannisyan
It is now clear how the prosecutor's office consistently demonstrates a masterclass on how not to examine cases in a legal state.
This was noted in a Facebook post by former Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Arpine Hovhannisyan. She specifically mentioned: “It turns out that when reading a medium-sized legal document in the prosecutor's office, they only read the sentence where the word prosecutor is written, forgetting what the document is actually about and interpreting the entire document with the logic that the only correct decision-making body in all situations is the prosecutor's office.”
“Even if the Constitutional Court states that there is a legislative gap and the necessity of establishing clear regulations that will allow for effective prosecutorial oversight and judicial review of pre-trial criminal proceedings, the prosecutors maintain that, without even any regulations, they have always made the correct decision as usual.”
“It is now understood why the Government strives to send all judges of the Constitutional Court into early retirement and remain without a Supreme Court. We are the unique country that has a body that always makes the 'right decision' in all situations and conditions—the prosecutor's office. Therefore, long live the prosecutor's office of the entire Armenian people.”
