Will Tsarukyan Close His Mines for the Health of Armenian Citizens?

“You should never doubt this, we have two mines: the Ararat Cement Plant and the Mghart Factory,” said Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), in a recent conversation with reporters when asked if he was ready to close his mines for the health of Armenian citizens.

“You go to the meeting with the managers; if the people raise an issue and oppose it, we will not resolve our issues with the people. Don’t doubt that it won’t work. For instance, our Mghart gold mine has not operated for seven years; studies are being conducted. We do not use cyanide, which is dangerous. There have been cases where both animals and humans have died. We conduct a washing process with water. If I know that it harms my people or nature, it will close,” he stated.
