‘Hraparak’: Everything Will Be Done to Resume Amulsar Operations, No Sufficient Legal Grounds to Cancel Old EIA
‘Hraparak’ newspaper reports that during a meeting of the ‘My Step’ faction held yesterday, which was also attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Tigran Avinyan, the uncertainty of the ‘environmentalists-deputies’ regarding the operation of the mine has deepened. They were informed that there are no sufficient legal grounds to cancel the old Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and to conduct a new one.
For this reason, the Ministry of Environment will continue its studies, attempting to find any possible grounds, and if not, they will be forced to allow the operation of the mine. During the day, Nikol Pashinyan also received representatives from ‘Jermuk’, followed by ‘Lydian’. According to our information, everything will be done to resume the operation of the mine,” the newspaper writes.
