«Zhamanak» newspaper writes: The government made a decision at its recent meeting to exempt organizations importing transportation vehicles up to 4 years old from value-added tax starting January 1, 2020. The law's implementation is expected to extend to imports carried out until December 31, 2020.

President of the Union of Car Importers Tigran Hovhannisyan is convinced that this decision is nothing more than the government executing the order of car dealerships. Car dealerships have been fighting for a long time to push individuals out of the market.

“I have personally been told by the Ministry of Finance that the management of ‘Toyota’ comes to the ministry and demands that individuals be pushed out of the market. And it is known that ‘Toyota’ belongs to Kocharyan. It turns out that on one hand, they are trying Kocharyan, while on the other hand, they are yielding to the whims of his company and creating favorable conditions for themselves. This decision is a concession from the government, fulfilling the order of car dealerships. This decision was for them, nothing more,” Hovhannisyan said in an interview with ‘Zhamanak’.
