Governor of the Bank of England Proposes Finding an Alternative to the Dollar

The Governor of the Bank of England has stated that the American currency is a destabilizing factor for the global economy. This was reported by The Guardian.

According to him, the dollar could be replaced by a global digital currency, which could serve as an alternative. He specifically pointed to the cryptocurrency 'Libra' being developed by the social network Facebook. Of course, it cannot yet assume the significance of the dollar; however, new technologies could pose a real challenge to the American currency.
