Zohrap Mnatsakanyan on Arayik Ghazaryan Captured in Azerbaijan

“Our dialogue with the United States has intensified at a high level during this period,” said Zohrap Mnatsakanyan, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a conversation with reporters today. He added, “Just evaluate all the meetings that have taken place in the past year with the leadership of the White House and the State Department.”

Commenting on the recent case of soldier Arayik Ghazaryan, captured by Azerbaijan, the minister emphasized that it is very concerning: “This is very worrying. I believe it remains a troubling issue for us. I do not have any new information to share at this moment, as both we, the Red Cross, and the Ministry of Defense are engaged with this issue. We understand that the sensitivity surrounding this matter is very high and requires a coordinated approach.”

In response to the question of whether a meeting with Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense Elmar Mammadyarov is planned, Mnatsakanyan replied, “Our meetings continue, the negotiation process has not stopped; I have spoken about this before. I last addressed it during the meeting with Uruguay, and as we always do, we will announce at the agreed time and moment.”
