The Government Decides to Provide Social Benefits to Those Who Served at the Home Front During the Great Patriotic War

The government of Armenia has decided to establish social benefits and honorarium payments for those who served at the home front during the Great Patriotic War, recognizing their selfless work and exemplary military service. This decision additionally extends to individuals who were awarded Soviet medals and decorations, commonly referred to as 'home front workers.' Currently, there are about one thousand such individuals.

With the proposed amendments, these workers will be able to purchase medications at a 50% discount, use public transportation free of charge (excluding microbuses), and receive bonuses as set by the government. Interestingly, individuals who performed selfless work during the Artsakh War do not hold any official status or recognition.
