Samvel Babayan's Mediator in Russian 'Interest' Circles is Former Director of NSS Karlen Petrosyan, but...

The newspaper "Pats" reports: "Samvel Babayan's activity in Artsakh, following the assassination attempt on former President Arkadi Ghukasian, has triggered mixed responses. Media reports indicate that he also has support from certain interested groups in Russia whose goal is to incite turmoil in Artsakh and thus strike a blow to the Armenian authorities.

"Sources from the newspaper's Russian correspondents reveal that the mediator between Samvel Babayan and the Russian 'interest' circles is Karlen Petrosyan, the former director of the NSS of Armenia, through whom the necessary support is being obtained.

However, the problem is that Petrosyan has no 'access' to the Kremlin. Furthermore, he has made efforts to gain favor from certain circles within the Kremlin, but has been unsuccessful.

Currently, Karlen Petrosyan is the head of security at one of the major Russian companies."
