Change.org Deletes Petition Statement Against Istanbul Convention, Says Zohrabyan

The President of the Bar Association Ara Zohrabyan writes on his Facebook page: "I would like to inform you that change.org has deleted the petition statement regarding the rejection of the Istanbul Convention. The U.S. office of change.org has stated in writing that: 'We are writing to inform you that the information included in your petition has been identified as hate speech. As explained in our Community Guidelines, we do not allow content that attacks or dehumanizes a group of people based on age, color, ethnicity, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, medical condition, or veteran status. As such, we have rejected your petition/content.'…

The petition statement contained no hate speech; it referenced thoughts from the convention, explanatory reports, and decisions from the Bulgarian Constitutional Court and called for the Istanbul Convention not to be ratified. This is something to consider regarding change.org's U.S. office's views on freedom of speech. And this extremely hypersensitive discriminatory approach goes beyond all limits:"
