Two Names Revealed: Who Will Become the Head of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction?
The newspaper "Zhoghovourd" reports that the position of the head of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction remains vacant after Ruben Vardazaryan was elected as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council on July 11.
According to information obtained by "Zhoghovourd," two judges' names are circulating within the judicial system as potential candidates for the head of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction. One of the potential candidates is Davit Balayan, the son of Kim Balayan, a former member of the Constitutional Court and a judge at the Yerevan Court. The other candidate is Davit Harutyunyan, a judge at the same court and son of Hrachya Harutyunyan, the former head of the State Protection Service.
In a conversation with "Zhoghovourd," the latter stated that he has no desire to take on such a role, while Davit Balayan commented, "I will resign. It's not a court where I would want to be the president."
