Changes Will Be Made in the Vehicle Inspection Process

The newspaper "Haylur" writes: "As known, back in 2011, the government of former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan abolished the vehicle inspection institute, which led to an increase in the cases of driving malfunctioning vehicles over the years.

This issue has been consistently covered by the newspaper "Haylur", and recently we found out that changes will be made to the law on 'Ensuring Road Traffic Safety' in Armenia.

This law will allow for supervision through an electronic database and defect diagnosis card. It will be filled out electronically and stored in an electronic database, enabling oversight to be conducted electronically without stopping the vehicle.

Furthermore, driving a vehicle that has not passed inspection or has been deemed malfunctioning as a result of the inspection will incur a fine equivalent to twenty times the established minimum wage (20,000 AMD). The only downside is the increase in the cost of vehicle inspection services."
