Kocharian's Legal Team Files Cassation Appeal Against Decision to Address Constitutional Court
The legal team of former Armenian President Robert Kocharian has filed a cassation appeal today against the decision to suspend the criminal case against him and to appeal to the Constitutional Court. This information was announced by the legal team.
Previously, on July 11, the defense filed cassation appeals regarding the measure of restraint imposed on R. Kocharian, seeking to lift his detention.
The reporting judge for the cassation appeals will be Samvel Ohanyan.
It should be noted that on June 25, the Court of Appeals, presided by Armen Danielyan, accepted the appeals from the prosecutor, the victim, and the victim’s representative Seda Safaryan.
By the court's decision, the personal guarantees from the former and current presidents of Artsakh, which were chosen as a measure of restraint for Robert Kocharian, were revoked, and it was decided to apply detention as a measure of restraint. The court also annulled the decision to suspend the proceedings and to appeal to the Constitutional Court.
