Armenia Included in the World's 'Most Wasteful' Countries List
According to a study conducted by the American Tempo agency based on data from the World Bank, Armenia ranks 6th on the list of the 'most wasteful' countries in the world.
USA Today reports that the world is drowning in waste, and the pace of waste production is only accelerating. In Armenia, each citizen is responsible for 16.3 tons of waste per year (in 2017, a total of over 47 million tons of waste was recorded in Armenia).
The top three countries producing the most waste per capita include Canada (36 tons), Bulgaria (26.7 tons), and the USA (26 tons). Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ukraine, and Serbia also made it to the top ten.
