Severe Hailstorm Strikes Lori Province: Several Communities Suffer Damage

On July 14, a severe hailstorm affected several communities in Lori Province. Arkadi Tamazyan, the head of the enlarged community of Akhtala, told NEWS.am that the hail caused significant damage primarily in the Ayri and Jojkan communities.

The head of the enlarged community noted that the duration of the hail varied across different communities. The storm primarily damaged wheat and barley fields, as well as vineyards and peach orchards.

“The damage to horticultural crops is mostly over 50 percent, as is the case for cereal fields. Since today is not a working day, a commission will be formed tomorrow, and we will present the extent of the damages to the provincial administration,” he stated.

It is worth mentioning that two weeks ago, another severe hailstorm hit Kotayk Province, causing significant losses for farmers.
