Opposition MPs to Send Lake Sevan's Algae Samples to Georgia
Opposition MPs Naira Zohrabyan and Sergey Bagratyan have collected samples of algae and water from the marshy area of Lake Sevan, which they will send to Georgia for additional laboratory testing. This was announced by Naira Zohrabyan in a Facebook post.
Her post stated in particular: “We are currently in Sevan and have taken samples of blue-green algae and water from the marshy area, which, as per our agreement, we will send to Georgia immediately for further laboratory examination. One thing is clear: the issue of Sevan is a national security concern and we must create a special commission for the rescue of Sevan without delay. In the near future, the Prosperous Armenia faction will convene parliamentary hearings, where we will discuss the emergency situation in collaboration with experts and try to find solutions. Issues will not be resolved with rhetorical speeches. We need to take action. Sevan is in distress.”
