FINDINGS: What the Food Safety Inspectorate Discovered in Gyumri

Representatives of the State Food Safety Service of Armenia have conducted inspections in Gyumri. The agency examined the meat and meat product sales points in the central market of Gyumri and its adjacent areas.

At the end of the inspection, a working consultation was held under the leadership of Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan.

Commenting on the impressions and noted issues, the head of the inspection body, Gevorg Avetisyan, stated that there are numerous violations regarding the conditions of sale and storage of meat products, as well as cheese and fish products. These conditions lead to various types of diseases and problems, as sanitary norms are not being upheld and necessary accompanying documents are absent.

Tigran Petrosyan emphasized the importance of conducting the actions of the inspection body within the framework of the law and noted that everything must be done to ensure that no one is harmed.

Meeting participants reached an agreement to take steps to ensure close cooperation among government bodies and organizations dealing with sector issues.
