Disability is not determined solely by diagnosis, says Arsen Torosyan

"Disability is not determined solely by a diagnosis, but rather by the loss of work capacity of the individual; does this diagnosis hinder them and to what extent does it hinder them," said Armenia’s Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan during a Facebook press conference with Radio Liberty, responding to a question from one of the users.

Torosyan mentioned that he has addressed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the head of the Health and Labor Inspection Body and is awaiting a response from the Prime Minister's office. The minister believes it is unacceptable for the head of a state body to impede such an important program and remain unpunished.

Arsen Torosyan believes that the effectiveness of such institutions should be assessed based on relevant documents. The Health Minister asserts that these bodies should be under the jurisdiction of the ministries, and there should not be artificially created conflicts of interest.
